I’ve never been very athletic. I have two left feet, I’m super klutzy, and I was always the last person picked in any kind of activity in gym class. Ellen Jaffe Jones is multiple-medal winning athlete, trainer, and vegan nutrition consultant, but she hasn’t always been as healthy as she is now. She was once an unhealthy, over-stressed single mother and television journalist. She begins Vegan Fitness for Mortals with a brief history of her health, and it’s impressive to see how far she’s come! Ellen story proves that if she can get healthy through exercise and a vegan diet, then anyone!
Did you know that 80% of Americans do not get enough exercise? In Vegan Fitness for Mortals, Ellen explains just how crucial exercise is to our health. She claims sitting is the new smoking, and she just might be right! She also explains the importance of a vegan diet for staying healthy. Going vegan isn’t always easy, so tips for making the transition and preparing balanced meals are included.
Vegan Fitness for Mortals contains comprehensive workout plans for just about every type of activity, including walking, running, biking, swimming, weight lifting, and yoga. Ellen includes warm-ups and cool-downs, and she also shares tips on how to avoid injury. If you’re on the go and don’t have access to a gym, Ellen has you covered there, too, with a list of exercises that can be done anywhere from the office to a hotel room. A list of helpful gear, gadgets, and other resources is included, too.
